Many people were scared about the H1N1 flu. Wearing a face mask does reduce the possibility of infection although some people only decided to take extra care by washing their hands frequently and avoiding highly public areas. Getting infected does depend on the amount of virus you are exposed to, but also on how strong virus is and how powerful your own immune system is. As it turns out, the virus was not as strong as it could have been and everyone is resting a little easier.
